It goes to the credit of ND TV's Prannoy roy to have popularised phesophology with close precision when his electoral predictions came nearly true. Now it has become fashionable to conduct surveys on many issues with a sample size as low as a few hundred respondents covering diverse geographical area, and demographical patterns. One such latest survey aired by ND TV claimed that Dr.Manmohan singh is the popular most PM even ahead of his predecessor Atal Behari Vajpayee. 40% of the respodents believed so. Lal Krishna Advani, his challenger is a poor fourth along with Rahul Gandhi. mores surprises here. Nearly 42% of respondents believed that Congress/ UPA dispensation is capable of fighting inflation better than NDA/BJP which was believed to be capable of fighting inflation better by 32% of respondents. Again 62% respondents believed that it is sonia Gandhi who is the real PM and not Dr.Manmohan Singh. Again 42% of respondents said that Indo US nuclear deal is good. The bombshell follows more no of rural people endorse this view. As one of the panelist Vinod Mehta felt even urban indian is not clear of what good this Indo Nuclear Deal is about, rural India has expressed opinion favoring it. Our benevolent Dr. Singh will now be happy to have been the most unlikely hero whereas he has been the most disastrous of all PMs we have had in Independent India
