Flawed feature of Almanac in dailies
There are many myths and misnomers in Astrology. One such glaring flaw seems to be in setting auspicious time for occasions.
Most of the dailies publish under coloumn 'almanac' inauspicious and auspicious timings for the day, in a generalised format as appearing in the almanac. These are erranus and totally misleading.
According toAstrological treatise these timings have direct link to the sunrise of the concerned place. Assuming the sunrise at Chennai as 6 AM on a Monday, the Rahukalam will be between 7.30 and 9 AM. The same will be 7.41 and 9.11 in Bangalore, since the city is 11 minutes behind Chennai. The difference can be as much as 40 minutes for Mumbai, being a westcoast city.
Similarly, the auspicious times set for an occassion like marrige also moves up or down in the clock as per the Sunrise.
The Sunrise also varies widely between summer and winter accordingly pushing both the auspicious and the inauspicious times forward or backward. This has been going on for years, unaware of the public and unmindful of the Astrologers community.
Unfortunately, and under the circumstances, by merely trusting the daily's almanac it is possible that some one may be tying the sacred knots at the peak of Rahukalam or Yamakandam, well before or past theauspicious moment.
It will be of immense help if the dailies could publish the timings adjusting to the sunrise of the place or atleast with an appropriate note for the benefit of the readers.
