Do's and dont's for a successful relationship
What are the top ten do's and don'ts a couple should follow in order to strengthen their relationship?
Remember, there is no point experiencing a feeling or an emotion when you don't share it with the one you love.
You don't have to share emotions that you don't feel
merely because the spouse expects you to say nice things. But every
time you feel it, share it.
All of us are perfectly capable of expressing emotions.
Remember how easy you find it to blow up at your spouse when you're
angry! Anger is also an emotion. If you have the wherewithal to express
anger, so too can you express love.
Expressing love is not a sign of weakness or mushiness. The more mature you are, the more you express your love for your spouse.
Not saying, 'I love you' does not mean you love your
spouse any less, but saying it means you are tuning into your partner's
emotional needs and that you care enough to do so.
Not expressing love means the intimacy in your
relationship will be low, and when this happens, the temptation to look
for intimacy outside the marriage is very high.
All human beings need periodic affirmation, and the best
way you can affirm your partner in marriage is showing you care enough
to take the effort, in other words by being nurturing. Share the events
of your day every day with your partner. This way each of you knows
what's happening in the other's life and you feel more connected to
each other.
Stay connected. Call each other at least a couple of times a day so you can touch base with each other even on a crowded day.
Don't expect your partner to assume your love. Show it.
When you're feeling down and troubled is probably the best
time to share your feelings, not with the intention of getting
solutions, but just to feel your partner's love for you.
A relationship has to be cultivated. There have to be feelings of love for another first. But then you have to really like the person.
The most important aspect of the relationship between the president and the secretary of state is that they both understand who is president.
Love is life. And if you miss love, you miss life.
All weddings are similar, but every marriage is different.
A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.
