Poverty and Malnutrition in India

Managing Editor

In India where many children suffering from malnutrition, several metric ton food grains have damaged in six states due to shortage of storage. Here more poor people in India than in Africa. The Indian states, including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal have 421 million poor people as per the latest study developed by Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initive (OPHI) with UN support. Government  could distribute food grains to the poor.

Government should take effective step to eradicate poverty from the country. It's not effective distributing 45 kg food grains to the BPL families. It will be observed that rotten or damaged food grains will reach finally to the poor. All the good things will be stored by the middle man or bureaucrat.

As per my understanding Government should distribute ATM card to each BPL household and transfer the amount to their respective account. In this way scandal can be minimized. If bureaucrat and ministers are involve in larger scandal, who will check to control corruption? Ruling Government or honorable Supreme Court? If ruling government take step against any minister from opposition who is involve in corruption, opposition politicized the issue and can disrupt parliament session. So only Supreme Court can check the corruption in India and save this country.
