Politician's of Hoardings

Nowdays Ganesh festival is going on all over Maharashtra. Particularly in Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai it is celebrated with different kind of enthusiasm. I stay in Navi Mumbai from last 3 years and happy to be part of all this here.

This weekend I was roaming outside, I was surprised to see all roads, galli's full of Hoardings, banners. Almost outside every housing society, corner, signals these hoardings were flashing praising the politicians. I don't know these hoardings are in respect or fear of anyone but point to be made here is that what we are gaining out of these acts? Is this kind way of showing gratitude is really required? Actually problem is not having he hoardings at all, problem is very bigger and it is attitude.

I think such show is unnecessary and waste of money and bigger is pollution, after few days these plastic hoardings will be waste and gradually threat to environment. On one side the politicians here are talking about environmental implications from the New Air Port are not thinking about this small thing [I don't think it is small at all, if we see it at our country level it is bigger].

The money these people are putting on for these hoardings, instead can be used in other kind of social well being activities, we need to go back and remember the idea of Lokamanya Tilak behind the Ganesh festival. The politicians can play important part in it by not motivating such mentality.

I remember one instance, years back when UPA declared loan waiver for Farmers. In whole Maharashtra NCP workers went of putting large of hoardings of Sharad Pawar thanking him. The huge media havoc happed on this and finally Sharad Pawar had to come out appeal his party workers to stop this non-sense. Our politicians have to learn from this and act.

India is moving towards to become the super power and it is responsibility of we all to contribute in all possible ways to support this growth.
