There are several reasons for which people lie and many of them are for a good cause. Many a time’s people lie to look agreeable in the society and to maintain their Position in the society. They always try to show that they are polite, good, successful etc to the society. People in greed of maintaining their self esteem and self worth also speak lies, this happens mostly when they are with their friends or colleagues.

A child basically starts lying at the age of 5 when he had just started to gain the awareness about the use of words and languages. Children no doubt lie to hide their faults as they are scared of beating and punishments. Fear is the most common factor for which people lie. It has been noticed that people at times lie to develop good relation and retain it, to avoid disturbances and disagreements with others.

Another reason for which people lie is to get out of sticky situations, once you came to know that speaking lie is easier than the truth we turned habitual to it. It is not always that we lie to save ourselves but also to avoid the rise of unpleasant situation after we speak the truth. People at times to take revenge and defame others also tell lies and create stories about others.

There is a disorder known as compulsive lying into which the person starts lying in any and every situation. The art of lying comes naturally in them and they are unable to speak truth. The lies which they speak are unintentional and cannot bring harm to anyone. Due to the disorder they face breakup in relationship and the disorder can later result into a serious disease.

People lie for fun also as telling a lie as a joke or to fool some makes no harms to anyone in fact makes the hectic environment lighter. While gossiping lying is an important part as we talks things we are not sure of, at times we don’t want to accept the fact that we don’t know the reality hence we lie at that moment also. We all know that after telling a lie we can easily skip from situations to the road of joy. At times it happens that a regular liar starts believing their lies as truth.

People generally lie to avoid punishments, to avoid confrontations or unpleasant situations, people who want to be liked by all and pretend to be sociable also lie. To save one and degrade others situations people do shelter themselves into the roof of lie.

Almost all of us speak lies at different time and in different situations, lying is not a crime but still it cause many unfavorable results, there is no ban on lying but it should be used for a good cause and with good reasons. Play pranks. Enjoy jokes is the beautiful aspect of lying. Don’t make it a need for survival.
