Religion : my views
The concept of Hell and Heaven are there in all major religion in some form. Religion teaches man to work in a manner to reach Heaven after his death and to reach heaven he should live his life in a certain prescribed manner followed through the generations. This path decided by others for you should be accepted without any doubt. An individual is declared a sinner if he challenges the customs and tries to follow the path discovered through his own reasoning. In some religion this sinner will come back to earth after death in some another form whereas others tell that he will burn in the blazing fires of Hell after his death. In short, they all teach man that he is here on earth due to his sins. Bible says Adam and Eve committed a particular sin by disobeying God so they came to earth and we being the child of Adam and Eve are sinner by birth. Hinduism says we all are here because of sins and if we will be good and follow the path of God in right, we will exempt from the cycle of life and death. Islam does not believe in these concepts of previous sins but they preach that we are slaves to the master God and we have to follow his way without questioning them. The most complex creature of nature takes birth with realization of sins and slavery. The very start of life is founded with a belief which can not stand the test of logic and we are told that this illogical beginning is the right.
As a child grows to become a man, he is taught that everything is controlled by an unknown force who is our savior. This unknown force will guide us in our journey of this life and the path written in the holy scriptures are words of this unknown, unseen force i.e. God. The ultimate goal of life is set to achieve death through the right path reach the heaven. The damnation of life and the worship of death is encouraged which I believe is against the basic nature of man. Man, an ultimate creation of nature is made to learn on his own and can not believe something on the evidence of plain texts but needs concrete proofs to satisfy his hunger for knowledge of this nature. This is totally unacceptable for any religion as it will shake the pillars of their holy institutions. Belief in God degrades man, by positing something "higher" or more "perfect." Belief in God is anti-man.
Religion had a "monopoly" on certain concepts such as "morality," "spirituality," and "worship”. Muslims can torture women as it is totally moral for their religion, Christians can slave other people as they are doing the duty of God, Hindus can deny the right of worship to lower caste in the name of religion. There isn’t anything rational about religion but still they say that their path is the right path. Religion is anti-man, anti-reason, and ultimately anti-freedom. Religion is responsible for altruism, irrationality, and collectivism.
“Since everything man needs has to be discovered by his own mind and produced by his own effort, the two essentials of the method of survival proper to a rational being are: thinking and productive work. Any "knowledge" that is not discovered by man's mind wouldn't qualify as knowledge. It would have nothing to add to man's understanding of himself or his place in the universe. Indeed, it would be "anti-knowledge." It undercuts the use of man's mind. Psychologically, it encourages man to "evade." Any purported source of knowledge not ultimately traceable to the use of reason would not be "worthy" of man.” [Ayn Rand]
