There are allegations that CPM is mainly responsible for vote bank and divisive politics in India even by jeopardizing national security / interest

All political parties are responsible for vote banks politics .Basic reason is that Indian voters are also lovers of caste, religion, region and community. They are basically greedy and become lover of those who give them something free. Even free promises without fulfilment do not annoy voters. They do not like to understand that politicians more often not make false promises on the eve of election..

Congress party appeased Muslim community for decades and won election with thumping majority. .This was realized after four decades by opposition parties and they too caught one religion or one caste or one group to create their own vote bank. BJP used Hindu, BSP used Dalit, RJD and SP Muslims and Yadav, Communists used working class and so on.

All political parties are indulged in vote bank politics. In fact voters are themselves divided and they are not at all concerned with national issues. Voters are confined to their local issues, their caste and communities and hence regional parties use their weak point and create vote bank. Characteristics of voter are different in different villages of different states. National problem of price rise or unemployment or illiteracy is not of so much concern for Indian voters. People voted Congress party in the last election knowing very well that under Congress rule prices go up and traders get full freedom to fix prices as per their whims.

As such different strategy is applied by different political parties to create vote bank. It is a fun that each political party accuses others of playing vote bank politics but do not hesitate to apply same narrow minded tools to win the lection when occasion arises for them.

India will rise with equity and uniformity only when national issues become agenda of mass voters and politicians discard their greed to become minister and earn money and power for their family.

India needs a leader like Jai Prakash Narayan, like Mahatma Gandhi or Netaji Subhash Bose who brought national issues on the radar of common men. Even Late Indira could get some amount of success in making “Garibi Hatao” a big success. Mr. Vajpayee could make the issue of “good governance” a national demand. India urgently needs a true leader, not those who can sacrifice national issues, ideals, party policies for the sake of a berth in cabinet. We do not want person who for getting a cream posting discard interest of the party of the country. Only devoted true patriots can dream of being firm in ideals and policies and only such person cannot be lured and deviated from right path by vote bank policies.
