Poet, philosopher and artist, Kahlil Gibran was born in Lebanon, a land that has produced many prophets. Millions of Arabic – speaking people familiar with his writing in this Language consider him the genius of his age. Gibran was man whose fame and influence spread far beyond the Near East. His poetry has been translated into more than twenty language. His drawing and painting have been exhibited in the great capital of the world. In the united states, which he made his home during last 20 years of his life, he began to write in English ,The prophet and his other books poetry, illustrated with his mystical drawing,are known and loved by by innumerable people around the world who find in them An expression of the deepest impulses of man’s heart and mind.

After moving to the US , Gibran’s curiosity led him to the cultural side of Boston, which exposed him to the rich world of the theatre, Opera and artistic galleries. Prodded by the cultural scenes around him and through his artistic drawing, Gibran caught the attention of his teacher at the public school, who saw an artistic future for the boy. They contacted Fred Holland Day, an artistic who opened up Gibran’s cultural world and set him on the road to artistic fame.
