Friendship...Love...Life
A four-letter word that can mean nothing, or everything.
Life.
To me, it means love, giving, hoping, dreaming, living, forgiving, crying, laughing, hurting, healing, believing.
Like I said, It can mean nothing. Or everything but nothing.
I have met many people in my life. Some good, some bad. Some crazy. Some who make you go' What????'. But it's true. It takes all types to make the world.
some gave me so much love. Others came into my life for awhile, made me very happy, or very sad, and then left.
Some gave me valuable lessons. Some people just knew me for a minute or so, and then left my life without any trace.
One thing I learned from all of this, was that no one is ever alone. Well, not on purpose. Unless you choose to be left alone.
Sometimes, love can fill your darkest moments.
Other times, friends can make you smile, when you want to cry.
I believe in Love.
And I also believe in friendship.
Yes, love can hurt. But only love can heal.
I have loved more than once. But have also been loved more than once.
There is no such thing as 'Love happens only once'. It happens as long as you have love in your own heart, and let love come into your heart.
We have all seen happy days. And also many sad days. The key is to live. And to love.
Anger is a bad thing. Very bad thing. It can make you say horrible things. Things which you regret later on in life. It can hurt. And the worst thing is, you can never take your words back.
Forgiving someone is not so easy, specially after being told something really hurtful. But it's all a matter of choice. We can either choose to forgive and move on, or let the hurt consume us and be bitter for the rest of our lives.
Without love, there can be no life.
Without life, there's nothing.
We were all born into this world as pure, beautiful souls.
But when our life here on earth is done, how many of us, will actually be proud looking back at what we have done? Or not done?
Is there any phonecall you should have made a long time ago, but did not make it?
Is there any person who you would like to meet, but always avoided doing so,for some excuse or the other?
Is there someone you would like to forgive, but could never do so, because of your stubborness or ego?
Is there a moment you would go back and change that you know would make yourself happy and those around you too?
Is there any decision you regret?
No one's life is perfect. There is no such thing.
Life is as you make it:
You can make things happen.
Or let things happen.
You can choose your friends.
Or they choose you.
Sometimes you get to choose the one you love.
Other times, love chooses you.
Life is like a game. If played in the right spirit, even though you may lose a few matches, you still come out a winner.
If played foolishly, no matter how many times you win matches, you will never get the gold medal.
Failure is a part of life. If accepted with a true heart, it can lead you to the highest mountains. If you only believe you can still win.
Patience can be a powerful weapon. Some people hate to wait or to be kept waiting.
But as they say' It's worth the wait'.
How many of us have actually heard another person's heart aches, without interrupting him/her?
How many of us have given unnecessary advice, when all the other person wanted was someone to listen to them, or give them a hug?
Its so easy to be with people who are happy.
The test comes when you have to be with someone who is upset or angry or hurt.
We all know what things make each of us happy.
Perhaps watching a movie we really like. Or getting lost with nature. Or looking at babies. Or maybe just... laughing?
But do we all know how to make others happy?
If you can do both, well..... you are one lucky human being!!
As you may have noticed, Im talking alot about feelings.
That is maybe because we do not regard them as so important for living our life.
We all wish for having a nice home, a car, and a good job to survive.
That's it? Is that what living is all about?
I would call it self living.
What about living for others.
And when you start to think about that, you would first want to think about yourself, and how you would like others to think about you.
Sounds a bit complicated?
Okay, maybe a bit.
Let's put it this way..
Let's say you had a hard day at work. You come home, and take out all your frustration on those at home.
Did you think about how their day went? Before you just screamed at them?
We get so involved in making a living.... in 'doing what's best for the family'.... in work.... that we forget that 4-letter word.... LIFE.
For me, love and life go together.
The more you love, the more you live.
Little things in life matter.
Like a friend remembering your birthday.
Or giving some money to the poor.
But it's so often that we overlook these little things.
The more we have, the more we want.
That is when the problems start.
We are never satisfied with having enough.
But in the end, we get what we need, not what we want.
For me, the most important gifts we can ever receive are the gifts of love and friendship.
Without either, this life is meaningless.
I have been fortunate enough to be blessed with both.
When we need to feel another soul in ours, that's when we need love.
When we need to rest on someone's shoulder, that's when we need friendship.
