I would like to share my take-aways from these with you through this medium.
The first is about a book I read sometime back called - “Have a Little Faith” by Mitch Albom.
It's a great read that touches upon Life, Values and Belief Systems especially in the context of today's crazy times. There are many pages and lines that struck a chord.
Here are some I really liked -
- "Because the word 'commitment' has lost its meaning. Now a commitment is something you avoid. You don't want to tie yourself down. We don't want to commit to God. We'll take him when we need him, or when things are going good. But real commitment? That requires staying power-in faith and in marriage."
- "Faith is about doing. You are how you act, not just how you believe."
- "Most religions warn against war, yet more wars have been fought over religion than perhaps anything else."
- "My friends, if we tend to the things that are important in life, if we are right with those we love and behave in line with our faith, our lives will not be cursed with the aching throb of unfulfilled business. Our words will always be sincere, our embraces will be tight. We will never wallow in the agony of 'I could have, I should have.' We can sleep in a storm."
- 'So, have we solved the secret of happiness?....."Yes. Ready?"....."Be satisfied."...That's it? "Be grateful"....That's it?...."For what you have. For the love you receive. And for what God has given you"...."That's it".'
- "What profits a man if he gains the whole world, but loses his soul?"
Pick it up if you get a chance!"
Best Wishes,
