The judgment of Central Information Commission bringing all political parties under the ambit of Right to Information Act is laudable.  This would definitely reduce the scope for political corruption which is the root of all corruption in this nation.

Every political party strains its nerves to covet funds from corporate houses for contesting elections. The party in power sells the top posts in Public sector undertakings to those persons who can manipulate award of contracts to those private sector companies who give funds to the political party in power.

During elections, the party functionaries spend their money lavishly in throwing parties in five star hotels conducting marriages, birth day celebrations, etc.

Even the life style of Panchayat Presidents has completely changed.  Every Panchayat union president owns an SUV, fluttering his party flag. The property taxes of apartments built on village lands converted for housing projects that fall under the jurisdiction of a Panchayat union president run into crores of rupees, depending upon the market value of such properties. When we are empowering the village Panchayats, we have not taken steps to prevent corruption at the Panchayat level.

Money is being collected by all political parties, right from the state capital level to the village Panchayat level.  There are no systems and procedures for regulating the receipt of funds by the political parties.
