Bride Syndrome? Reluctant bride syndrome?

When one has decided not to act, pursue, or proceed further on any issue which requires immediate, timely and relevant decision, s/he may in managerial decision making process.

This option chosen by them may be due to one or more of the following reasons:

Fear complex: They may be fearful of their decision if something were to go wrong in their decision making. They may want to play safe. It is a different issue, how long they may be able to avoid decision making. In the process, they are sure to miss great exhibit this ‘reluctant bride’ syndrome when pushed by others.

Lack of qualification: They may not be qualified to hold the position they may be occupying. And hence naturally they may not be able to understand and appreciate the problems on hand and hence they may be totally ignorant on its resolution and the required decision making.

Status quo maintenance: They may be totally satisfied with their current position and comfortable with their current environment. Naturally they may not like to disturb their apple cart

Responsibility shirking: In the past, their management may not have recognized such indecisions and hence they may be encouraged to exhibit this responsibility shirking

What would be the outcome of this ‘reluctant bride’ syndrome

I have seen many people, even at fairly senior levels exhibiting this deficiency opportunities in their lives and also in making their organizations greater.

As you may have observed, those who exhibit such reluctant bride syndrome will miss out many opportunities.  The trouble with opportunities is not that they don’t come. It is that they are not punctual.  So one has to constantly upgrade oneself and take ‘first time’ right decisions all the time.

Surely they will win on all occasions.
