What BUSINESS is this???
When we talk of IPL teams, we associate, Sachin with Mumbai Indians, Sehwag with Delhi Daredevils, Shane Warne with Rajasthan and so on.
BUT when we come to the teams of KKR and Royal Challengers the first thing which comes to our mind is the name of SRK and Vijay Mallya.
Things don't work like this, especially in Cricket. These 2 Teams have never looked like a team. Bangalore's early failures last year raised few issues of captaincy, team spirit and same is happening this year in KKR and Bangalore is also not far behind.
Each of them is waiting for the other to loose to climb the league table. Before the start of the league, Bangalore was boasting to have the most destructive batsman in its side & KKR was quiet happy with Gayle, but who knew that the smile was to vanish very soon.
Buying a cricket team doesn't mean that you are a man of cricketing knowledge. The main issue that the team owners will face back home is that of FOREIGN CAPTAIN.
I am not a cricketer, but I have played a lot of Cricket in schools and colleges and I know very well that Different captains bring different problems to a team, The flow breaks. The players have to play with a different mindset under different captains.
Overnight declaration of a FOREIGN captain is not easily digested by the TEAM. The issue is not only about the Foreign Captains but about their Experience too.
Can SRK and Mr. Buchannan explain the grounds of assigning a never before captain like McCullum, the captaincy of such a diverse KKR team???
The same question also applies to RC Bangalore.
T20 cricket is itself an entertainment... what else do you want to prove??
Numerous SRK & KKR ads telecasted in every single break can assure SRK of a fat wallet, but surely can't assure of a good performance of Cricket.
IPL T20 is itself the Business of Cricket.
.....and I am happy for that,,,, because this business is providing a great platform to the deserving Cricket talents...
But,,,,
Treat Cricket as Cricket and not Entertainment Business..
.....and moreover,, SRK ur "woh sattar minute" dialogue won't work here...
