New Year Resolution Of Indian Citizen
Year 2009 has begun...2008 Year has gone...New year New hope..New year resolution...Every year we make some resolutions...Reducing weight ,waking early,more savings,job shifting,more business,more balanced life etc etc...
Its great to have resolutions...Some are met and some are broken...But it better to have one then not forming any...Its better to try always...
We all are indian citizens...Now what is our resolution as indian citizen for better india?...Year 2009 is perhaps most important year for india ,if we consider coming 5 years...
Last year india was rocked by many blasts..Mumbai became the trigger point where all indians said enough is enough...It brought people to streets...rich,poor,hindu,muslim,right wing,left wing,city,town all shared common emotions...Anger,frustration and outraged...Anger towards our system which repeatedly failed...Anger towards corrupt bureaucracy...Anger towards politicians....We bashed our politicians...Chanted slogans towards them...We had feeling of helplessness..We all abused our dear neighbor...Yes our neighbor is epicenter of terror...But our intelligence failed in preventing..Our system failed and Our leaders failed....
But number one thing which failed is us...We the INDIAN CITIZEN failed...How?..Because our constitution gave us right to elect...Our constitution made us script writers of destiny of our country...How many of us who are educated,have good job go to vote...Some may say we do...Thats great...But there are so many of us who dont...There are so many of us who know more about shahrukh khan and dhoni then about manmohan singh...Its good to follow life of people whom you admire but at same time as responsible citizen we must know where is our country heading to...
2009 is our test...2009 has general election...As indian citizen our 2009 resolution must be that we would vote...We would vote on real issues effecting us...We would vote on merit of person contesting...We would vote not on religion,caste but on real issues like terrorism,law and order,economy...We would research about candidates and vote...
Lets stand together this time..Lets pledge we would bring true democracy..Lets pay tribute to Karkare and all those who lost lives that we wont forget and make our politicians accountable...Yes still votes are bought..Yes its possible that even if you vote right person wont be on seat...Yes one may thing whom to vote...all are same...But politicians have become like that because we didnt ask questions to them...We remained silent..First things we can do is vote...Stand up,spread the word..Bring youth on board...Lets utilize our power of vote...
2009 is our year....2009 can change india...Not overnight...Things can't change over night...But begining can be done...
