A few days back I had asked my nephew to return to India and settle here. To that, he replied with many questions and I feel; that his letter is representative letter expressing the thinking style of the new generation.

He asked me some questions I cannot reply. I am putting them here for you to see if you have any reply that may satisfy any body and justify my claim that our youngsters should return to India.

He told me when he passed his engineering exam with 68% marks and applied for the job he did not get the job and was given to other fellow from scheduled class who had got only 52% marks in the same exam. He further says that he has no bitterness because that boy got the job but the point is why we should work hard and earn so much more marks if in spite of that we are going to be rejected just because we are not from scheduled class.

He blamed present condition of India for the intemperance (overindulgence) of our planners in encouraging scheduled class at the cost of non-scheduled class communities. One should not forget that it is the non-scheduled class people who built the nation and even maintained the scheduled class with all their shortcomings. When constitution gave additional preference to this class for the beginning period of our independence, the expectation was that, with that this class of people would take full advantage, come out of that scheduled class state, and eventually become by virtue of good development non-scheduled class by merits of themselves. Constitution had expected that eventually a nation without any scheduled class would emerge. Alas, that did not happen. It has become a quality to be scheduled class. Many originally non-scheduled class communities are fighting to be, declared as scheduled class, for example the Gujjar of Rajasthan and Maratha of Maharashtra. They are arranging riots, destroying public property worth great value only to pressurize the center so that they are allotted scheduled class status. Rajputs and Jats are in line for the conversion to scheduled class. Many originally non-scheduled class communities have already been converted to scheduled class such as Lingayat Brahman, Devadnya Brahmans and many more. This means the provision made in the constitution has made exactly opposite effect than what was expected by the writer of the constitution. This clearly means, gradually all country is going to end up as a big scheduled class mess of the nation. Better values shall be, rejected only to be acceptable as scheduled class. Complete deterioration of class and quality shall follow, reducing this country into a chaos. A scheduled class is always a scheduled class, never wanting to improve but on the contrary, they worsen in their habits only to prove that they are perfect schedule class! He blamed the corruption in this country on this total acceptance of scheduled class mentality, which encourages only wrong and rejects all fine qualities of life. Good qualities such as prudent decisions replaced insensitive callous decisions; hoodlums replace warriors; honesty replaced by corruption and so on and so forth. “Chalta hai” attitude is encouraged, by this defect of scheduled class mentality. 

The scheduled class leaders have only one trump card that, “In the past their forefathers were mistreated and were refused equal opportunity.” Now that is not the situation anymore; they are getting more than equal opportunity so the question is how long this trump card shall continue. Incidences of cruelty are shown to justify their stand but cruelty is harming all class of people and not only scheduled class; He further said, Brahmins deal with their own poor also with cruelty and so that excuse cannot be used to justify the extra concessions given to them.  

He then asked me, “Should he return to such a mindless country that rejects good quality just for some political and monetary gains?”

In America, people appreciate good quality and encourage it and that is the reason why many non-scheduled class people from India prefer to stay there. They want to maintain and further add to them so that they can develop into a great nation. We are contributing for the enrichment of U.S. and for that; they compensate us adequately by better life and brighter future. In such a situation, why should we return? What shall we get if return? Facing scheduled class government with that unintelligent and terribly corrupt system, can we do any contribution to the country? He recalled incidence of chief Minister of Maharashtra while on visit to the U.S. some years back promised NRI to return and open businesses in India but when a few of the NRI obliged they did not get any co-operation and had to return back, never to return to the country. He vehemently asked me what future is for non-scheduled class people in future India. Are we not as much Indians as are the scheduled class? Is not India our country? How long this surrender to scheduled class lobby shall continue? If clamor for scheduled class preference continues the way it is happening, a day will not be too far when all non-scheduled class communities shall shift to better world for their future, leaving this unfortunate country to these scheduled class corrupt nincompoops. Nonetheless, some brainy criminal minded non-scheduled class may continue to operate these hoards of scheduled class jerks and become their leaders, but that shall never benefit the general public of the non-criminal minded, non-scheduled class population.

He told me that all one sided love affairs and subsequent murder or defacing of the non scheduled class girls on not accepting that love are being forced on non scheduled class community by scheduled class; what government (which is made mostly of scheduled class) is doing to protect non scheduled class girls who refuse that love (or obsession)? Are our girls safe in this mindless country where scheduled class people are forcing one-sided obsession on them? My nephew has three young daughters.     

What we can do at the most is send some monetary help to some of us who are still hopeful that situation shall improve and so busy doing some good work to eke out for better future. He admitted that he is not that great and so prefers to stay at U.S. and continue to develop for himself and that host country. He also vehemently asserted that, he is a responsible father and wants his children to be in better atmosphere and will not want to throw them at the hands of scheduled class government of India.

He finally echoed his suggestion that all non-scheduled class Indians should leave India and come to settle in America and grow in this favorable atmosphere, continue their great traditions by forming their communities and allow scheduled class Indians to have, not only 30%, but 100 % jobs. We, both scheduled class and non-scheduled class, shall be better off this way. 

As I got this letter, I contacted one of my friends from Congress Party and asked him, if it is possible to stop this clamor for scheduled class. He replied negatively and explained that political parties want to win elections and that is most important to them. What happen to the country actually does not matter to them so long as they are in power and the State treasury is in their control. He further explained to me that scheduled class are continuously producing children keeping their majority and their votes matter while non-scheduled class are reducing in numbers as they are the ones who practice family planning meticulously. The base of our democracy is in quantity and not quality. So for quantity quality may suffer, we do not care! We want to be in power at any cost! He affirmed. Other important aspect of scheduled class majority is that they are easy to rule, they do not ask questions like non-scheduled class, that makes ruling easy for the political parties. He compared scheduled class people with a flock of sheep and non-scheduled class with a pack of dogs. None-scheduled class people want politicians to serve the country whereas, we want to rule it, that becomes possible with these stupid scheduled class majority. The more scheduled class the better it is for us, he affirmed. In this way, he discouraged me. 

I want to send him a reply to prove to him that he has not thought properly. Can any one of you help me at that?
