The past few days have been kind of numbing.  Left, right up & front ‘wannabe- Prime Ministers’ are cropping up by the day. Each of these characters ‘Oracle’ their own elephantine right, rationalizing with all the parochial skill they are capable of. It is the turn of a Dalit – the  Kanshi Ram Oracle said so…..No! it is the turn of a Maharashtrian….the  Sena Oracle thunders!...it should be an anti Congress …anti-BJP squeaks another Oracle. My own Oracle says is the turn of a lean, tall, probably handsome, be-spectacled, clever, wise, convent educated  Mechanical Engineer  from a humble farmer background, with loads of integrity, values ,honesty and management skills (in case you are wondering who the person is… ..that’s me for sure!) Delimitation at work eh?

The upcoming general elections in India are probably as dangerously wide open as one can ever imagine. Will we be finally catching-up with our infested  ‘environmental-friendly’ neighbors? Will our great ‘always challenged democracy’ pass the Board Exams?  The math appears to be beyond syllabus , the physics & chemistry entirely unpredictable with funny equations emerging. Perhaps,  Biology would be the only decent paper! Thanks to the recession, many of the ‘coaching centers’ have vanished and everyone is looking skyward and sideward for answers!

With the Congress and the BJP being squeezed and rare juices extracted many times over, their infant allies have all grown & evolved to become gorgeous & smart, ‘stand alone’ men & women in their own right! The sights are on them!

Being a self proclaimed wannabe-PM myself,  I have this crazy little idea – What if the Congress & the BJP get together, in the larger interests of the Country, and form a sensible professional coalition Govt in the event of they becoming No. 1 and No. 2? Choose a PM by transparent voting of all elected MP’s, same with all cabinet portfolios and positions. Establish an agreeable common minimum programme , debate all issues and arrive at a consensus by internal voting and other mechanisms. No party High, Low or RSS commands!

Would not this be better than the elephants, tigers, bi-cycles & two leaves who without any vision for the country aspire to rule? They can learn to melt together and become ‘an Opposition’, for starters! It is also time the  people of this great County think , apply their minds and vote for one of these two formations-who without doubt have the experience probably the wisdom and the best chance of keeping India together and developing her to Himalayan heights!  Let the ammas’, bhenjis’, yellow shawls, dark goggles,  bald heads, capes and full or French beards  rule the states, but there ought to be a clear division of thought between the regional and national. This is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to ‘grow up’ and show some awesome maturity!

The lotus normally floats in its pristine glory untouched by the water that supports it. It can also be held by a slender, beautiful (pizza-eating?) hand. The Hand itself (sometimes many) is always held by a body (& hinduvata soul ?) without which it is just bone & flesh. The Hand & Lotus could paint a very pretty picture. Shake it? Wilt it? See who’s looking! Ha!
