I have been using blackberry for more than 3 years by now. Initially , BB Pearl and then upgraded to Blackberry Curve 8320.

In between,i switched over to HTC and Nokia for a month but embraced the Blackberry again for some unexplainable comfort factor.

In these 3 years , i have tried most of the paid and free software in different categories - some were useful and rest were not, may be because the utilization of any application depends on actual user's specific requirement, which varies widely.

Let me now tell you why i am writing this article :-

An hour back , i opened the application , analyzing Internet Search pattern for my Blog and noticed that 80% of the key words are " free blackberry application." It appears, there is a sudden spurt in demand for free blackberry applications.

Unfortunately, most the free applications are spread across numerous sites and for a busy executive , it is very difficult to gather complete information, before deciding about the software matching his/her specific needs.

Hope , my personal experience will help those blackberry users , desperately looking for useful applications.

Social mediais gaining momentum these days , particularly facebook and user's ability to use facebook on Blackberry could be a delightful experience.

Although,this application has been floating around for sometime- recently released up- gradation to the version 1.6 is a all round software with some useful features.Try it out !

2.Blackberry RSS Reader VIIGO

Another very good application, i am using now for managing my RSS feed is Viigo. With so much of work pressure ,do you have sufficient time to search numerous sites for information, filter the useful ones for a quick glance ? Not at all !

So . the obvious solution is installing a RSS Reader on your blackberry and read relevant news on the go.Right ?

I have tried most of the RSS readers including Google Reader but Viigo is awesome and addictive as well , because of it's simple design and ability to choose quickly the news you wish to read.

Unlike other RSS readers , it's without clutters.

I gives you access to several useful channels like Weather,Sports,Stocks & Finance,,Loan & Mortgage information etc ,apart from regular News & RSS Feed.

Initially you need to open a free account with Viigo by visiting the site http://viigo.com/home and then install the application on phone.

Choosing the content is very easy - you can add relevant RSS feed in the site itself or do it on the phone by following the instructions, mentioned in this blackberry support forum article.
