How to Improve Your Self Confidence at Work

"Where previously you were quite relaxed and focused, you now tense up and question your ability. Your energy is going by the second. This certain person chatters on at you about something, not listening to your responses, while only seeking to talk about their issues and how you can help them. You stammer some feeble responses byway of reply, feeling your strength ebb away until you find an excuse to leave.

Sitting in the toilet cubicle a few minutes later, you reflect on what has just happened. Why does this person have such an impact on you and how can you overcome it so that work ceases to be a place of torture?"

I absolutely agree with the author - infection or explosion - this is how we operate in our workplace.

The approach of "infecting" environment with self-confidence is highly effective. The reason why i am able to compare, because i have worked with both energetic/lethargic people, and the way they influence the environment is amazing/disgusting.

"You are known by the company you keep", is applicable in your professional life also.

If you are working in a dynamic work environment then it's a bit easier to energize yourself and start infecting the surroundings with your own positive energy.

So take this factor into consideration before accepting another offer.

"trick to doing well at the office can never really be found in manuals and how-to books! You need to make a start by adopting a positive attitude towards work, your colleagues and your superiors and believe me it will work wonders at making you feel 10 feet tall. Work blues hit us even during our best days, even at a time when you think that you are the most successful person at work!

Author Prerna Salla has clearly highlighted the focus area for improving your confidence at work.

Some of those i could relate easily, like the attitude of thinking and saying "I Can" makes a huge contribution to confidence building exercise.

In fact few days ago, when one of my colleague flatly responded to a challenging task i assigned him, i told him the same thing and eventually he could do it successfully.

Another important point she mentioned - i agree more than 100% - is overlapping of professional and personal life, which many folks may not agree, but in my opinion - it's just unavoidable.

Attitude is the manifestation of your overall personality, and positive inputs or developments in your personal life greatly influence your behavioral out-put in professional life - improving your confidence level beyond imagination!

So to conclude, all i can say is "Live Life King Size"
