I had that nagging question most of my life. I even wondered, "What if I was in the wrong body? Would I still be me?"

When ever I dared ask any one that question, the response was usually the same."That is a stupid question. Don't you ever THINK!"

I had so many questions that I just wanted to KNOW!I lived decades assuming that everyone else knew all the answers but me, because not many people I knew ever asked questions.

A few years ago, I met an amazing woman who said to me, "Wake up!"

My immediate response was, "Did I fall asleep while you were talking?"

This woman, named Grace Rose took me by the hand a stood me in front of a mirror. She firmly stated,"Look inside to tell me what you see."

"What? I see two eyes, some hair, a nose..."

"Look inside to tell me what you see!"

I was getting sort of frustrated, but I looked in the mirror, again, thinking I knew the answer. "It is me."

"Look inside to tell me what you see."

I just stood there befuddeled as I shifted my weight from one foot to the other.Finally I 'turned within' to know the answer.

"AH-Ha! I had to look inside myself didn't I? I am so many things."

"Yes, you had to 'turn within' to know who you are. You are not the body you see in the mirror. You are not your accomplishments. You aren't even all those people you are attached to by birth family, or friends and acquaintances,  nor are you your profession. All the colors of the rainbow inside you have not been discovered yet."

Grace Rose and I became fast friends.She taught me self esteem and how to view my life in a whole new light.

Together, Grace Rose and I, Malika Bourne, wrote a novel; THE SECRETS OF THE UNWRITTEN BOOK:FATE OF THE GOLDEN HEART. Since that second publishing, Grace edited one of her self help manuals THE LOOKING GLASS to be a companion guide to our novel.

The novel is about a journey of self discovery; an endearing friendship and everlasting love. The story itself is intriguing with many twist and turns.It teaches  a complex concept will keeping the reader's interest.

Some readers question "What is fact or merely imaginative fiction?"

Our answer is "What truths do you now know after reading the book?"

So many readers are telling us they have begun their own journey of self discovery, asking, "WHO AM I?" We will have The Looking GLASS in print in early October. This powerfully packed manual gives exercises to utilize; an auric color chart and self esteem principles.

People I speak to , now, ask me , Malika when did you know you were an author?" i gave it some thought at first . I came up with three anecdotes about papers I wrote. I turned with in  and I knew the answer. I...am...Malika.
