Style Icon No More!

Bollywood's style icon and Qurbanifame actor feroz khan passed away on this 26th April. With his death, the Hindi industry has lost a noted actor, a creative director and a flamboyant human being. Feroz was famous for his kingsize lifestyle and generous nature in the filmi world.

Feroz was born on 25 September 1939 to a pathan father Sadiq and Iranian mother Fatima in Banglore. Making a debute in Didi, he started his filmi career as a hero, after which he went on doing a variety of roles ranging from a supporting hero to villain. His noteworthy movies are Oonche Log, Main Wohi Hoon, Aag, Mela, Upasna, Aprsdh but, he was shot in to limelight after the success of Qurbani, which also had Vinod khanna, Zeenat Aman and Amjad khan in important roles. He was producer and director for Qurbani. Dharmatma and Dayawan were his other two hit productions.

He Played across various roles such as writer, editor, producer, director and actor in moviemaking. This also shows his flamboyance in reel world.

I witnessed only two of his movies Yalgaar and the 2007 released Welcome. In Yalgaar He Played a daredevil police officer which trully stands out. In Welcome he played an underworld don and was much appreciated for his humorous punchlines. His westernised look and his roaring voice were the two things which were really outstanding in his persona. His leading ladies have been appreciating him for making them look beautiful on screen.

His love for cigarettes and alcohole is well known. At a time he had given up smoking and drinking but his love for royal and kingsize lifestyle couldn't keep him away from these two favourite things. He was battling with lung cancer for over a year, which at last took a toll on him.
