Legacy has a major role in Few Indian Banks and in its System.

Hello every one, this article belongs to those from tier II cities and Tier III and got settled in some metropolis.

I belong to a simple middle class family and I went to an AB bank, a famous one in AP as my dad has an account in it. As kids from these classes nowadays are earning decently so transferring a part of their income to parents residing at their home is quite common. Money transfer is Big Issue now in AB Bank :).

My journey started @ 9am

I approached AB Bank branch in Ashok Nagar (Hyd). I was asked to wait for 20 min to know whether I can pay money in an Account existing in my home town a Municipal Corporation city.

Staff reply: “Oh I m sorry, you can’t pay here please go to Commissioner Office branch, chikkadapally branch, or narayanaguda branch, or nallakunta branch. Options were many n good.

So I started towards Municipal office branch in ashoknagar (Clerk Says I m sorry any information will be passed when we start our daily schedule 10:30am)......

Again I started to Chikkadapally branch, and there I see a person waiting outside the branch office on a footpath and looks at me and says in a mockery” what sir came to deposit money? When I asked him why he was talking in that way he asked me to see the branch timings (10 am – 4 pm)? I saw n didn’t understand what was wrong with that? He said that the staff usually comes at 10.15 and starts the process at 10.25. I said k and smiled back.

I was the first person before cashier to pay money. After seeing account name, the cashier said smilingly “I m sorry you can’t deposit please go to Ashok Nagar branch.” When I said I m coming form the same branch he suggested me to go to narayanaguda branch.

The same repeated there. Well I had good experience with Indian Banking.

While coming back I saw note outside the bank that Banks will not be working 24 and 25 of September 2008 as they would be on Strike for:
FDI in Banking sector
Privatization of Banks
They are also Protesting against Merger between PSU Banks

I would be among the thousands who would be happy if the Privatization and Mergers would happen so that it would save the trouble which we all have to go through.

I am sure many of you must have had a similar experience so I thought of sharing mine.

Any similar experiences and comments on this are accepted.

Thanks for listening to me
Omkarnadh
