What does your driving reflect?
Having driven over 80,000 kms in the last 18 months, having driven 1,600kms in a day and having to drive around 100km a day; I believe it gives me the prerogative to comment on what different types of driving reflect on drivers; primarily because I have gone through the different phases of driving. [This is my reflection of driving styles in Dubai]
I classify drivers into “5” different categories; drivers
1. Who drive in lane at the speed limit: They are the more relaxed lot; who had a good day or started the day with a hot breakfast and peace of mind. He is a balanced person.
2. Who drive in the fast lane flashing and tail following: They are found during the fag end of the day when you are returning home. They primarily drive cars as big as their ego; they reflect the least patience and are likely candidates for high blood pressure and cardiac arrest. He is a person who gets easily flustered.
3. Who zig zag from lane to lane flashing right and left indicators: They are drivers who leave everything to the last minute and believe that they can catch up on their lost time by zig zagging the lane and getting ahead. He is a Person who leaves everything to the last minute.
4. Who drive in the fast lane at half the speed limit: They are the lost souls who do not know what their destination is in and what their next turn must be. He is a Rudderless person.
5. Who drive from lane to lane without flashing indicators: They are bored and exhausted with no energy left even to move their fingers to activate indicators. He is a confused person trying to catch up on too many things at any given time.
The different styles of driving are a reflection of a driver’s mood, attitude and their persona. Hence, the next time you identify such a pattern, you know who is inside?
