We have got clear the purpose of saving water as it is created by our beloved father-GOD , created for us.

Now to start the point we shall start from a place where water is wested.

The one place is our terrace where water is wasted too much. Surprised? Off course water is wasted there--on our TERRACE.

You see, we Indians have rain water available in plenty. Suppose we have 10 times rain in a monsoon season, each gives 5 to 10 inches rain water everytime. Take 6 inches or 15 cm as a average.

Let our terrace is measured 10 mtr by 10 mtr.

So 10M by10M by 0.15 M will give 150 cubic meters of water falls on a terrace. for 10 such rain give us 1500 cubic meters of water . This much water is wasted during a season.

This is 15,00,000 litters of water--Pure water..wasted.

So if this water is saved, in real we shall have served water.

To save this water is easy, too. Take a PVC or uPVC pipe 3 or 4 inch diameter, connect its one end to the outlet of your terrace, lower it down up to the water pump. Pinch a hole in the casing pipe of your water pump, at a depth 2 or3 meters from ground level and connect the pvc pipe to the hole in the casing pipe. If your terrace is having 2 or 3 or four outlets, then also you can connect them by piping it to gather by suitable clamps and more pipes. You can get a plumber for the job. He will do it simply. This work will take only one day to collect the pipe and fittings, and one the next day your plumber will finish the job. It will hardly cost you approximately 3 to 5ooo Rupees. And for lifetime you will save 15,00,000 litters of water each year. If your house is flat of 8 families you will share the cost, by explaining the other family heads and you will have to spent only 500 to 700 Rupees only.

Your 700 rupees can save 15 lakhs litters of water each year.

But yes ...Take some care.

[1] The terrace require to be cleared before the first rain starts [2] Fix a wire mesh at the opening of your terrace outlet, so that any waste will not enter the pvc pipe.

Q-will it not spoil the casing pipe of the water pump?

Rep-- No. because rain watr is pure water. So it will not spoil at all.

Q-- Has any person done this type of arrangement ?

rep-- Yes. In many areas of Bhavnagar, Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Junagadh, Surat, Amreli, savarkundla, ....[ list is very long] SWADHAYAY PARIVAR has done this. This arrangement they call PUMP RECHARGING.

Q- Have they found this arrangement useful after they got done ?

Rep-- Yes. These experiment has proved very useful. Some bores were remaining empty after some time after monsoon is over. After recharging , they gives water for all 12 months. One another binifit has also benn noted. At some place where water was salty at the previous water table level. After pouring water by this recharging method, till 2 or 3 yrs ,pure water went into the earth and the water stored underground is pure. So that water when comes out by water pump, it is sweet, pure ,potable water.
