Kurkure Movie Producers Receive Legal Notice from PepsiCo India
Lately, PepsiCo India has issued a legal notice to the movie producers of an "Adult Entertainment Film" who have titled their movie as Kurkure. Kurkure, the very brand that PepsiCo owns. Legal notice has been issued by PepsiCo as naming an adult entertainment movie has occasioned severe damage to the brand value of Kurkure snack which has been tarnished and diluted to a great extent.
Pepsico India is also taking a legal action against the Kurkure movie producers and websites not ready to remove the published movie from their respective properties.
Needless to state that the use of the expression Kurkure and that too for an adult movie is illegal, malafide, unethical, unfair and dishonest and the same is in complete violation of the proprietary rights of PepsiCo in its well known trade mark/brand Kurkure.
What do you think about it? Is it ethical to tarnish the image of a well-known brand? Share your thoughts on the same.
