We r living in a democratic country,so we should have freedom to choose between good and bad on our own.If somebody wishes  to go around with his/her girlfriend/boyfriend on Valentine's Day,others should not have problem with that.In the world where there is hatred every where,if this day promotes love ,what could be more beautiful than that!!  Although  it is upto us to observe it in whatever form we like and definately, we should have this right.Marketing gimmicks are definately there,but dont u think our mainstream festivals like holi,diwali,id,christmas,..promotes the consummerism in a far greater propotion..So  wats  wrong in adopting such a wonderful part of western culture perhaps ours is known for a tolerant ,flexible and multicultural ideology..

Another issue is pub culture. pubs cant not be banned in the name of culture.Our ancient Indian Kings used to have madira,a form of wine for their enjoyment..Anyways if they say we should go by wat our culture has defined for us,then why  we r not following sati pratha or child marriage?? why is there a law against dowry? why do we protest so much for women empowerment??The answer is- culture is not like a BIBLE,GEETA OR QURAN which cant be changed ,it is something which a society choose in conformation with time.With global exposure level like this,if we shut down all the pubs India will be termed as a consevative and backward country .This will surely undermine the country's image as a tourist hub..Need of the hour is to impose strict rules and regulations on pubs.The age limit criterion should be strictly followed.Customers must carry identity proofs with them..it should be made mandatory that vehicles owner should  bring along with them a driver who should not  be allowed to enter the pub...This will definately check drinking and driving menance. Strict actions should be immediately taken against the pub owner and the persons using illicit drugs in a pub..Perhaps our moral police activists can help regarding the impositions of these rules.Just by beating helpless girls at a pub, cant  prove their point............
