DIVINE NO 108 AND ITS IMPORTANCE

As per vedic scriptures in Sanathana Dharma no108 is very important,actually it is a magic no.Our ancestors and saints have insisted to recite matnras at least 108 times. Why?. There are so many convincing reasons for choosing this no 108 for the worship. Some of the noteworthy reasons are listed below.
1)SPIRITUAL
108=1+0+8= 9. When we add the numericals,we get the no 9 which denotes the nine forms of devotion as described in sacred books.For japa we have got 108 names of various God and Goddess.Incidentally in Islam also there are 108 different names of Allah.
2)ASTROLOGICAL
We have got 12 rasis and 12 grahas in Astrology.12 x9 =108,different combinations of radiation at the time of birth of a child determines the future life and based on which Hindu makes their horoscope.
3ASTRONOMICAL
During solar eclipse the distance between earth and sun diveded by the diameter of sun is 108 and the distance between earth and moon divided by the diameter of earth is also 108
During lunar eclipse the distance between moon and sun divided by the diameter of sun is 108 and the distance between earth and moon divided by the diameter of moon is also 108
hence the figure 108 is constant in this Universe and hence its impotance
