I always focus on sound and prosperous design practices like Feng Shui
As an architect so far I have been able to gauge the requirements of all my clients within a few minutes of talking to them. I motivate my clients to explain a-z of their requirements before designing a space that actually becomes an extension of their personalities.

I am a no ego architect, which perhaps go along well with the expectations of my clients. Client satisfaction is of paramount importance to me.

My firm, Satish's Swanlines, is a Bangalore-based design company, established in 1996. Projects of various genres and magnitudes have taken wing here, given that the company offers architecture, interior designing and civil engineering expertise and services. When the company first started, I had just four employees. We worked very hard and conscientiously and by the time we moved to our Jayanagar office in 2007, we had 45 employees with dedicated and qualified teams to oversee our ongoing projects.

That hard work pays off is demonstrated by the fact that I worked for an architect throughout my architectural degree to gain practical knowledge apart from an academic degree. Proving that architecture is not restricted to a limited vocabulary, my company has the wherewithal to handle any kind of architectural and interior design turnkey project like residential and commercial complexes, malls, multiplexes, corporate offices, institutional and industrial buildings, hospitals, health clubs, hotels, holiday resorts and other mega structures as well.

I place few of my project images here and there amidst this blog, while the walkthrough I installed in my office can take you around all of my projects. There is nothing that is too small for me and vice versa. I look at the harmony of elements and good vibrations within the space. I believe that as an architect I must take the client to a higher position, socially and economically, indirectly through sound design elements and practices like Feng Shui.

If I design and plan a house for a young professional, say on a 30' X 40' site, I know he will come back to me after a couple of years to build a larger house as the design elements will ensure it indirectly. I put thought into the resale value of the buildings. The value must appreciate.

I hail from a humble, lower middle class background. The knowledge that my community (Kammas) has is immense. Most of us are not academically qualified but all of us are master builders and our practical knowledge could be difficult to match.

Dear Ar K Satish,
Interesting to know that you derive the best of Feng Shui, though I failed to find anything significant by implementing its principles extensively in the apartment building I put up in Patna.
As for focusing on Feng Shui, I am afraid I did an in-depth study of the subject and applied the prescribed remedies for countering ying and open the door for yang (by making my house clutter free), having wind chimes, laughing Buddha facing the entrance door, not forgetting to have the frog with the coin in its mouth over the entrance door etc.
Then I had the three chinese gods (I forget their names) in the eastern direction. However, with the passage of time I became more practical in my approach to life. The initial exhuberance was no longer there, though none of the Feng Shui items have been removed from the said Apartment in Patna. I am now a believer/worshipper in Shridi Sai Baba.
However, I am marking link of this blog to my former nidokidos contact turned friend and well wisher Siva Sankaran for his info.
Regards,
When I completed my degree in architecture from BMS College, I got the opportunity to be involved in a building project for the community. At first they had reservations because I was just out of college. After I suggested significant structural changes, they incorporated them. That was a big achievement.

I was among only a few architects who specialised in designing apartment buildings in 1996. The concept of apartments had just been introduced and the city barely had 8-10 apartment buildings. Today,I have designed a great number of apartments and my expertise in this genre has been recognised by builders as well. I have been ahead throughout my career, since I designed, modelled and documented projects in 3D.

Recognition came from all quarters but I hold my clients' testimonials close to my heart. According to PLV Reddy, Managing Director, V2 Developers, I bear an approach that people will find very refreshing. He places me high at architectural and contractual aspects, besides introducing me to his circle as someone with a great natural sense for what the client is looking to do with the project. Concurring with this, PV Balaji of Lifestyle projects says, 'My builder who has worked with many architects claims that Satish is the easiest to work with. He is down to earth, humble and all the way make us feel plesant to deal with'.

I attribute my success to support from family. Success means that my company has been responsible for several iconic landmarks in the city and elsewhere. We have executed projects in Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Tirupati. We have executed projects for Reliance and Big Bazaar apart from retail showrooms for leading automobile companies and jewellery businesses.

Our company won an award for the Hero Honda showroom and our design for KS Institute of Technology on Kanakapura Road has impressed several institutions. Success also means giving back to society. Right from the start, I have encouraged people who wanted to get into the construction field by giving them technical and design support.

Today, there are many builders who thank me for the initial support. We have also started the Suaasare Foundation to provide education to deserving candidates and work towards greater learning opportunities.
