Change for the better

IT industry
Having subscribed to the NAT GEO daily mail on the geographical updates, I was going through the mail accumulated in my inbox hoping to see some really good photos of the world.

While enjoying the mail will so much elan, I happened to come across a mail describing the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. A little research just gave the following inputs.

The Garbage patch is an area of marine debris having a high concentration of plastics suspended on the surface. Most of these come from the main land itself. So we all can make out how much contribution we make to the pollution in the middle of the ocean.

The most unfortunate part is the consumption of these garbage by the animals in the sea as well as the birds who cannot distinguish between the seaweeds and the suspended plastics leading to death of the birds.

I was just wondering how come we produce so much plastics and use them relentlessly without any consideration for these poor creatures? every day we go to the market, or maybe get some new electronic equipments we end up bringing back those menacing plastics.

Many countries have banned them, the question is how many have followed these regulations? In India itself, almost all states have banned them, atleast in writing. But, everywhere you go people still pop out these ever so handy plastics and even the educated people are least bothered about the fact that they are creating a health hazard for themselves.

The goverment themselves are in such huge mess, they don't even make any effort to implement the rules that they themselves create.

Another example is the phasing out of two stroke autos in India. While parts of India have implemented it, in states like West Bengal the rival political parties try and gain mileage of this good cause.

As a result, whether the autos will be phased out, that remains a question?

with the new generation becoming more conscious and responsible of their surroundings, there is a hope all these things may change for the better. The changes brought by the all popular movie 'Rang de Basanti' in the hearts of the young Indians is one example that the Gen-Next is definitely not siiting back and watching those corrupted officials that everything in thier hands.

That was the hope and feeling I had while writing this Blog. i am definitely avoiding plastics and try to bring in the change so very needed for this enviroment and I too hope you do also.
