How to help a person that is; angry sad or depressed.
A few tips on how to calm them down and/or help the problem.
- Don’t ask right away what the problem is. Identify the feeling for example; you look upset, you feel angry etc.Then after they understand that you are empathizing they will either talk themselves or answer when you ask what happened.
If this does not work you can crack a joke, exaggerating the problem or stating the exact opposite. For example your probably upset because everyone loves you so much that you cant have peace and quiet.Laugh even if your joke is not funny and that will lower their defenses. - Step 2
Listen empathetically just let them talk, a long silence is not a problem.

After you heard what is troubling them, you have two options.
1)You can either ask them themselves what they hold they should do. If none are forthcoming you can say for example; that is always the big problem, on one hand you are down and upset but on the other hand you want to get on with life. This is in order to stimulate them into a proactive mindset.
