Beware of Fraud in Petrol Bunk in Bangalore
I cannot say it only happens in Bangalore, but you need to be careful while you are putting petrol for your vehicle.
First, when you put petrol for big amount like Rs. 500, you may noticethat fuel indicator is not showing the right capacity. I used to thinklike some problem with the fuel indicator. But later I heard thatPetrol bunk operator used to fill the air before injecting fuel. Ifyour fuel indicator is not right, please correct them as a firstpriority & observe them carefully. We will not know whether thesepeople are cheating us or not. Soon your petrol will get over, we tendto think that traffic is more or vehicle is consuming more fuel.
Sometimes,there will be two people in the fuel station. One used to fill thepetrol and the other guy used to collect money. When you notice verycarefully, when the operator about to fill the petrol, the Cashcollector shall ask like 'Do you need bill sir?' or 'Do you want to usecredit card? No charges for that' or some way of interrupting.
Whenyou turn to Cash collector, you will be cheated by the fuel operator.He could have not reset the meter which he used for previous vehicle.For example, for the previous vehicle if he filled for Rs 30, but whenyou ask petrol for Rs 100, you could have got petrol for Rs 70 only.
Wefill the petrol very often & wherever we need. We will be drivingin tension by thinking about officials, family, friends. We pay littleattention to this fraud. Even if we feel some odd behavior in petrolconsumption, we either curse vehicle or traffic or our self but payvery little attention to actual source.
These petrol bunks, might mix something with petrol too. This will damage your vehicle.
Youcan often find another issue. You petrol was taken by somebody. Youneed to be careful on that too. Consult a mechanic & ask him how tofix tubes so that no one can steel petrol.
