Reservations were first created for the upliftment of downtrodden people of the society with a time bound frame work of 10 years. The politicians of those days were visionary and statesmen. Their ultimate aim was never been personal gains. As the times goes by, visionary politicians vanished from the political scenario and dwarf politicians occupied the positions. Reservations to those underprivileged became a political gimmick and these people were began treating as vote bank for the political parties. The time frame for reservations has lost relevance. The noble aim of upliftment of downtrodden gone to dust and reservations became the right of certain sections of people. No government can dare to think of lifting these reservations at this juncture. Since the society divided on caste and parties emerged on caste basis, major political parties found lost their ground and coalition politics became the game of the day. Major political parties are in search of another bastion of promised vote bank for their survival, since reservations on caste basis have already been saturated. Reservations for women is another such bastion found by the political parties. This is going to draw a division line in the bed room. Divide and rule is rocking the Indian society once again. There are some voices of opposition among the political parties on the issue, since they fear a vertical split in their caste vote bank. Major political parties are trying to project themselves as the sole champions for bringing the bill on reservations for women. I am personally against any kind of reservations. My strong belief is that it kills the merit. In the name of social justice, society is being filled with most ineligible. India is driving away its most eligibles for crowning most ineligible and the society is going to ruin with this stuff in the near future. I am one of the victims of this so called social justice. I wonder the kind of justice being practiced in India. Empowerment of women with reservations is one such poising pill being injected into the society. The fruits of this bill in anyway are not going to reach the common women folk, it would be beneficial to a section of elite. The beneficiaries at first place are undoubtedly the political parties and not the women folk of this land. The common women folk do not have time to spare to know about the benefits of the bill because they are busy earning bread for them and their family.
