Dream & Efforts
Goals are just a dream with a date on it. If you can dream it, you can do it. Do you think you can, or do you know you can?
“I have to get my ducks in a row.” Have you ever seen ducks in row while they are stopped? No. They go crazy, everywhere when mom stops. They are only in a line when mom is moving. If you want everything to get in line you have to start moving.
How will you be remembered?
The bible says: I can do all things through Life’s challenges are a locked door. Behind that door is opportunity. You are the key to opening the opportunity. You have been specifically gifted to open your doors. You have to give it your all though. A key only inserted half way or even 7/8 of the way will not unlock the door. You have to commit 100%. You are the Key that unlocks your future. You just have to decide to make the effort.
What are your dreams? What are your goals? Don’t give me “I want to make 1 million dollars.” That is not good enough. Don’t give me “I want to cure world hunger.” That is not good enough. You have to find something that motivates you and build your goals around that dream. What are you going to do with the million dollars? How will your legacy affect the rest of the world? Will you make a mark on society?
How will you be remembered?
Most people who succeed have eliminated their safety net all together. They get into the mindset of “If it don’t’ work then I don’t eat.” Fight or flight response has taken over and they realize that they are the only ones who can make their dream come true. They live the life of it’s all or nothing. You have to make it happen. No one is going to achieve your dreams for you. No one is going to hand deliver your dreams to you.
If time was no consequence and money was not an issue…what would you do? How would you live? How would you spend your time? You already know the answers you are just afraid to say it out loud because that would mean you would have to commit to that goal. You can only ignore the signals for so long. Are you doing all you can to make an impact on your circle of influence or not? Are you going to settle for an uninspired life? Make some goals and make it happen.
Write it down and share it. Make it part of your daily routine. Talk to others about what you plan to do. You never know who might be in a position to help you. You never know what circumstance you might find them in. They will make you accountable. Make plans, do the research, and decide that today you will start taking the steps necessary to make your dreams come true. Start with small steps if you want but take a step. Get the inertia out of the way. An object in motion tends to stay in motion. Get your dreams in motion.

Remember what Henry Ford said, “You can’t build a reputation on what you are going to do.” Maybe you don’t know all the answers or all of the steps it might take. Go as far as you can see and when you get there, like the horizon, you will be able to see farther. Then keep going. Don’t ever turn back. Don’t settle for second place. You have what it takes.
The bible says, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened. For he who seeks finds and he who asks receives and he who knocks it shall be opened.” Matthew: 7:7-8
The door is opened only after you ask, seek and knock. It requires you to make an effort. You are the key, you have the dream, and you are the decision maker. Don’t let life pass by while you make plans.
