The A.I. and the human
I don’t know if you have ever felt like this, especially when you are alone and standing on top of the hill or a tall building and wondered about life and that we human beings are one of the most mysterious creation of mother nature. I am sure all of us, time and again have asked these questions to ourselves, I mean questions like why do we do what we do , what is our role in this universe ?
Some of us have tried finding the answers in religion, philosophy, science et cetera et cetera but I wonder how many of us are really satisfied with the answers we got.
I just want to share some lines from the movie THE MATRIX; this is when Agent Smith is talking to Morpheus and explaining him what he thinks about human beings.
“Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment. But you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area.”
The very fact that I am writing this blog on MS Word and by the time you finish reading this, we are well aware that it is actually the machines which are constantly working to deliver my thoughts to the readers irrespective of their geographical location but imagine a day when the machines are able to analyze, monitor and control our thoughts - bull’s-eye and that’s why I admire Wachowski Brothers for making THE MATRIX TRILOGY; the movie has a significant story line of Man-Machine interdependence.
The A.I. in the movie is nothing but the peak of human intelligence, when we disregard wisdom over intelligence, technology will be threat to our “civilization” , the past is like a gaping hole we never learn from it and the future is a result of today’s endeavor .
I am sure you and I will not be there to see the sun set in east but our great grand children might be living in a different planet and will be reading about the beautiful planet earth in the history lessons and on that day I wonder what their thoughts will be about us and our “Modern Civilization”.
I don’t want to draw any conclusions here as this small blog was just a summary of random thoughts J
