Medical Tourism & India:

The Medical tourism has emerged as the fastest growing segment of tourism industry despite the global economic recession, because of high cost of treatment in the developed countries like USA and UK. The patients have to wait for months together for their turn to come for the treatment because of a long queue of patients and it is not always possible for a patient to wait till his turn comes. These are the reasons which have been forcing patients from such regions to look for alternative and cost-effective destinations to get their treatments done. Other regions are Middle East and Africa where good healthcare facilities are not available. India could be seen as potential Health care providing country with world class facilities on a very economical cost. The Indian medical tourism industry is presently in a budding stage, but has an enormous potential for future growth and development.
