The Medical tourism has emerged as the fastest growing segment of tourism industry despite the global economic recession, because of high cost of treatment in the developed countries like USA and UK. Moreover, the medical tourism is expected to generate revenue of US$ 2.4 Billion by 2012, growing at a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of over 27% during 2009–2012. The number of medical tourists is anticipated to grow at a CAGR of over 19% in the forecast period to reach 1.1 Million by 2012.

Though there are many countries promoting medical tourism as business like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, U.A.E., Jordan, Czech Republic, Poland, Israel, Brazil, Taiwan, South Korea, Norway, Croatia, Argentina & Philippines and so on, but all these countries have limitations on some or the other level, it could be related to facilities for to the cost.
