The art of "Listening"
I wanted to write something about a very important component of communication-"LISTENING".
When we are listening to any person (POWERFUL than us), our mindset of listening can be any one of the following.
- Listen with a mindset to comprehend fully what the other person involved in the conversation actually means.
- Listen with a mindset to question the correctness of what the other person involved in the conversation claims.
- Listen with a mindset to oppose what the other person claims just for the sake of opposition.
- Pretending to Listen without a mind to listen.
My take is that we have to cultivate the habit of listening as mentioned in the first point to make the communication effective as this will greatly impact what you actually speak in response.
