It’s economic down turn in United States and I wanted to understand what the best solution to over come the situation.Very recently Obama have been opposing the whole idea of Outsourcing and in his speech he specifically mentioned Bangalore. He said “create Job opportunities in Buffalo and Not in Bangalore” and No more Tax Benefits for companies which outsource.

Will this help the situation what the American’s are facing today?

I think he should be thinking at it from a more wider perspective and I felt that it would be wise enough to give him some suggestions.

What Mr.President should do ?

He should encourage people to take a salary hit till the problems are sorted out.

Encourage people to work in emerging economies like India and China.

Encourage people to save. ( People of US should spend wisely in the coming days to beat the economic condition. )

Increase jobs by coming up with real time opportunities and not by cutting on Outsourcing.

He should focus more on Exporting rather on importing and to focus on exporting he should encourage people to consume less and produce more.

Encourage Entrepreneurship.

Use the so called American Power and start manufacturing units in USA. ( Just not focus on automobile Manufacturing but venture out in to various other arena. )

My idea was basically to understand how many people would be ready to take a salary hit and to get the answer to my question, I launched a LinkedIn poll and sent it to about 2450 contacts that I have in LinkedIn.

Few of them really took the poll and here is what I found.

55 % of the respondents answered yes

45% of the respondents answered No

To my surprise :

100% of the female respondent has replied Yes.

100% of the C level and VP level employees also replied yes.

I think these responses really shows of the Social Responsibility towards the Nation and its economy. Mr.Obama was speaking about Social responsibility during his pre-election campaigns. Now its time for him to practice, “The change that we can believe in”
