MEDIA AND ITS EFFECTS

If we talk about media ,it can be explained as the mirror of the society as it brief us about the things going around the world and also reflect the glimpse of our lifestyle and daily happening and activities around the globe. Today media is influencing and affecting almost every section and sector of the society . media has been guiding our youth ,has been supporting women at different stage.

Media has been effecting the youth by providing them very current and every mandatory information to them through t.v serials and news etc. They are not only passing the information but also guiding them in many aspects regarding their higher education, moral and spiritual growth, needs and entertainment etc. Media allow them to express their views, ideas and feelings. It also provides them a platform for group discussions and debates. Media is responsible for the current phase of society as they impress the society by its information’s and education they provide us.

Media had always highlighted every wrong any illegal aspect of our society .It had criticized the reduced status of a women in their home, community and society and had always stood against violence against women. They had always tried to maintain the respect and dignity of women through their events .Today media is an important wheel of the car of women empowerment and women education.

Media like other coins has two faces .No doubt media is the fourth pillar of democracy and has huge impact on the society. Media is a powerful tool today as it rules the society by providing it directions. A normal person is a celebrity overnight and opinions are changed by just one wave of media.

Today media openly shows the innumerable achievements of the country .Today media gives a power to a normal person of the society to reach out the society as the whole, and has made a simple man a hero.

Media keep an eye on the working of the government and the corrupt practices in the society. Media has became the most reliable source of the public as it very swiftly and easily deliver the information from one corner to other. Today media has bridged the gap between the leaders and the public by being a channel of communication between them. The vision of media reaches even the remotest corners of the country and makes sure that everyone is aware of what is going on in the country. Social causes like literacy, health management, anti-dowry practices, discouraging female feticide, AIDS awareness, etc. are significantly promoted by media which is really appreciable in developing the society.

As we all know that media has a very deep impact on the mind of the society, at times media can adversely affect the thinking capabilities as it has the convincing power to form and change the public opinions. Many a times it has been noticed that media advertise the things in such a way that it leaves a negative impact on the minds of the youth especially. we might have noticed that in movies there are some sequences in which the thieves or the murderer are sharp enough to escape with their skills ,and that is just for entertainment but at the same time the youth is encouraged to try and bring such thrills and adventure in their life , which creates a lot of disturbance in the society.

Media being the forth pillar of democracy should try to bring out good, mature and healthy aspects for the society. Media should always keep in mind that they are the direction provider of the society and should always transmit the information which are true and healthy for the nations.
