Privilege motion to some members of the Anna team is ridiculous

While watching televised proceeding I heard some members doling out sermons as to how Kiran Bedi, Kejriwal, Om Puri and others ought to have observed courtesy and decorum. But what about Laloo, Mulayam, Sharad, Pappu. Manish and the like. How these guys had created pandemonium in parliament on many occasions on women’s reservation bill, how they tore the copies of the bill, how they snatched them from the hands of the speaker, how they heaped vituperative invectives on one another is known to all.

Only a couple of days back a sandal was hurled by an MLA on the a fellow MLA in the Rajasthan assembly. We had also viewed  how a vulgar remarks had been made against a lady MLA by her fellows of the Congress right within the Vidhan Sabha precincts in M.P. What about fisticuffs, hurling of not only abuses but chairs and all forms of missiles in J&K and UP assemblies? There are numerous instances the most repugnant was an attempt to disrobe a lady legislator right on the floor of the house of a south Indian state. Now she is a chief minister.

We all in Bihar know about the credentials of Sharad Yadav who is a leader in habit of riding piggyback on Lalloo or Nitish to win an election. He has no popular support. Once Devi Lal had commented “Jiske tan pur Kapra na thaa usko maine Kapra mantri bana diya” i.e the person who was in rags was made minister of textiles.

Therefore I appeal to the MPs not to be so intolerant to public criticism and should take all this in stride. Legally speaking also, the remarks do not constitute defamation or an affront to the august institution or its members.
