Piracy in the Gulf of Aden has grown to epic proportion in the recent months, forcing maritime insurance rates higher, and providing pirates a handsome return with ransom averaging to millions of $,

Modern day pirates are well and better equipped with the 21st Century weaponery and attacking the ships armed with rocket propelled grenades semiautomatic weapons, and AK47S, Besides the pirates use boats that are made of fibre glass and wood which are very hard to pick-up on the radar. these boats are small and fast,as they can hide in wave height of a feet or two.

The need of the hour is a Quick International Coalition Task force to tackle this situation, as piracy is a an international problem which requires a quick solution, setting up a international coalition force to tackle this issue, proper Coastal surveillance in these coastal area is a must, this will help to detect and deter piracy and create a lawful maritime order, and develop a safe passage for all trading ships passing through these waters and saving the lives of the innocent Crew's on board these Ships, thus creating a safe maritime envoirment.

Rcently a coalition force of 20 ships, coast guard, marines and sharp shooters as well as helicopeters and unmanned ariel vehicle, is being used in the gulf to carry out surveillance to detect the movement of these pirates operating in the sea's and flush out these pirates once and for all, thus giving a hope for all the ship to pass safely, through these water,s
