The Indian trains are such a great place to see the less attractive face of India that you can be a very different man after your journey. It may sometimes bring a complete transformation within you. My every single train journey to Bangalore and to my hometown has given me loads of thoughts and experience. I have previously shared one very beautiful experience of my May journey to Bhubaneswar and this is the second one from the same journey.

Wow… the thought of, how I am going to spend more than 1 day in a very crowded and noisy Indian train, enthralls me.Every time here, I meet many strange, interesting, cold and a variety of co passengers. There are also many sellers, pantry staffs, TTs and whole variety of beggars. If ever, you have traveled in a non AC sleeper class, you must have noticed many small kids cleaning the train floors and asking you for some tips. These are the very kids who are most often, rudely shooed away by the passengers. But, do they deserve such treatment from us?

“Eliminate child labour”, is quiet a loud but vague statement from the Government. We can say that, the Indian Railway has been taken care by these millions of unknown and unpaid faces. In the trains you find chocolate wrappers, peanuts, papers, disposable glasses,plastic bottles and a long list of dustbin items all over the floor. In a long journey there is a risk of getting buried under these items, but luckily we survive. There is a huge unknown workforce earning there bread and butter from the very generous Railways. They clean the floors and get rare tips from the passengers. This workforce is made up of small kids. Indian Railways boasts of growth and profits, but is keeping its eyes closed for these underprivileged masses. Lakhs of unpaid young workers are in fact, making 2^nd class trains travelable. The Govt. says, no child labour and it is a shame that unofficially one of its major departments is actually having a large number of young disguised workers.

Isn’t this the responsibility of the railways to improve the living condition of allthese unofficial railway workers?
