Tell me about yourself is the most toughtest questions that every candidate face in a job interview. Most of the candidates give the verbal version of their resume once again. Remember this is not what your interviewer is looking for. Here is what I think you answer should be, this is just a sample and you may adjust your answer according to your position. Your answer should not exceed more than 2 minutes.

Actually my professional life is kind of two tracks, my work life and my volunteering service. In my work I have 12 years of successful experience from very large organizations which I can bring into this position and that makes me hard working and I work independently and very much self motivated. In these 12 years of experience I had also the opportunity to work closely with the management team on designing and redesigning policies and process, educating them on the organizational goals and ethics, shouldering them on their day to day operational and administrative issues. This makes me very reliable, approachable and acceptable.

My personality is very easy going, so I am easy to go with and I think my ability to carry that smile on my face and create a fun filled work environment put people at ease at a tense working situation. I have great communication skills and consider myself as a teacher at the broader sense. I am very comfortable standing in front of people presenting information to them. I have the ability to take complex information and break it down for people to understand in easy ways.

On the volunteering service, I work with teams and had opportunity to lead teams and task force. I have lead a team of 10 to 15 members helping in the planning, organizing and executing and pulling in resources and information, drawing the big picture, meeting deadline and targets.

So what I am hoping is that all of this experience kind of converge into one place and I think your company has a lot to offer to me and I have lots to offer to your company and in terms of these lines what does you company do in terms of training and employee development? What are the challenges that I have in this position?
