Who is Good?

Business Strategist

After Obama became president of U.S , there is huge hue and cry in India for passing the political baton to young generation.

But every time I hear this slogan , I try to justify “ Is really this slogan meaningful?”. As, I also belong to this youth bandwagon, so I decided to find answer to this question and thought it would be easy for me as I belong to this elite generation. My findings were not so encouraging.

What I found, for most of the youth Voter ID Card is just an identification document which they use for booking railway, airways tickets or use it at any place which require ID proof. What’s most unfortunate is that I am talking about the educated youth of India which “Have voice but no desire”. They take out rallies, burn effigy, write posters , shout in front of cameras, give hug and know all sorts of protesting tool that is used in any corner of the world but don’t vote.

Now ,out of all those angry youth who want to bring change in National Politics only very few of them will go out vote that has become a universal truth for India , because for others election day is a holiday, may be a day for dating or watching movies. Biggest excuse is, all candidates are worst , no one is even better. One question I ask with them all “Who is good”, do they even know all the candidates name who are going to contest for election from their constituencies.

Most of them even don’t know their state local party name , they only know the name of national parties because who cares about dirty game i.e. Politics.

And what’s most interesting is that most of them have a favorite party or political face which is theirs parents favorite, of course when one doesn’t have rationality to think, they follow tradition.

Now, when now I am accusing present generation a question arises, was there really a generation which used to be rational?

For comparison lets take the example of our preceding generation, most of whom may be around 50 to 60 yrs of age now. Forget about now, just think of our childhood times whey they were youth and we all will remember, that our parents used to vote every time i.e. educated folks of that generation were at least responsible enough to vote. They were listening their leaders views on T.V , reading about them in newspaper, used to go to rally for listening to their local leaders.

Now , whether their decision were correct or wrong that is different thing , they used to at least take decisions which they think were best at that time.

No doubt the current generation is mush more global because of advancement of technology ,they know what happen across the world , but most of us are not using that knowledge for taking a decision. Either you tell who is the best or choose the best from the available.

The best example is the current Indian team and our captain , who takes the decision first and then face it. And , as this generation has the capability to take correct decision, so most of the time we all see Indian Team smiling now rather than dropping their head. as was the case 10 years back.

So, I request this intelligent generation to come out and Vote for the Best. And answer the question “Who is good?”

Then only we will be grown up enough to take the political responsibility from our elder generation with due respect, so that they can do some rest in old days and give us some grey matter thoughts when necessary.

So, Go out and Vote , Your Vote counts.
