Gold frame and Human mind!!

The story by R.K.Laxman 'The gold frame',where the man comes with the photo of his dead grand father to get it painted and framed in the costliest and the most beautiful golden color frame.Explains to the painter how important is that picture and that person to the family and reminds the painter to make that the best possible.

Unfortunately while working the paint can falls down and photo was gone to the extent of unrecognisable state. So worried painter searches for the similar photos from the old paintings and finds one and puts that in the golden frame. The man comes and looks at the work and becomes suddenly annoyed and pledges"I had asked for the cut mount of the frame and you have made it square mount. Its a shameful act that you can do with the painting of a great man".The painter was relieved though he has to make a different frame the main problem vanished.

I feel this looking at the frame and forgetting the core is the act most of us do many of the times. Our mind is so much conditioned on how we want the things should be and we forget to see how actually the things are.The objective and the abstract look at anything is what every field looks forward. But the tragedy is when the mind is so much prejudiced to look at what it expects the things to be like.

Our good old culture, scriptures, traditional values(other than superstitious beliefs)are getting framed in the tint of modernisation.Hope the beautiful sculptures in rocks and stones do not get the filmy faces for the future generation. In the process of framing the core or decorating the core let the originality remain.Let the truth remain at the core.

Good values, may it be from anywhere or anybody let them remain as the core.Long live good values and the core. "Sathyam, shivam, sundaram."
