CAG has worked surprisingly well in the rotten milieu of political decadence.
It is unthinkable that the Prime Minister has not been aware of the 2-G scam. Raja confirmed that Manmohan Singh and Chidabaram had consented the allocation of 2-G spectra and were party to every item of Policy matters related with the allocation. People have valid reasons to be curious why the PMO failed to take timely action on the unfolding scam even after Subramaniam Swamy had raised the issue formally with it in 2007 itself.
Kapil Sibal has natural instinct to defend the indefensible. He was the man who had tried to bring the CAG into controversy in the aftermath of the CAG report on the scam. But now subsequent events and investigations have reaffirmed people’s faith in the institution of CAG that has worked surprisingly well in the rotten milieu of political decadence.
To strengthen political institutions of the country it is imperative that Singh, Chidambram and Sibal should resign at least for the sake of morality. This is what the people want.
