These things make no sense

I am not an economics expert, but even for the layman, certain modern innovations make no sense as they employ a great degree of risk. Take banking loans. I just can’t understand the concept of loans. What if you lose your job or are unable to pay loans, why make a business out of people’s weaknesses? It’s the same policy that failed the Vidarbha farmers who were unable to repay loans. Obnoxious, and the pressure too much to handle.

Secondly, there are credit cards, plastic money makes absolutely no sense whatsoever in terms of security and impersonation and thefts. Credit cards are more of a bane than a boon, making it virtually easier for crime and should be done away with. Thirdly, there is E-commerce. Dealing with online monetary transactions is a pain in the neck, as you risk the fear of identity theft and many more factors. PCs and laptops. Although these are essential today, you have to constantly keep upgrading your browser, your antivirus and your software.

These are some of the inventions that we can do without. Another irritating factor is the Stock Market; what is it if not legitimate gambling?

Added to these are all the environmental factors that come to the fore in technology, like waste burial, child labour, third country dumping grounds etc.

Come to think of it, we do get taken in by new inventions, but not all of them have been useful!
