It has been noticed often that when you allow worry to worry you, you end up worrying the most. And more often than not, the worry turns out to be, not as worrisome, as you had imagined. However the relief on learning that the worry was in vain, is so great that you may want to welcome the worry. Trifle sadistic ! But just a thought.

It has been a sportive day today. Two back to back IPL cricket games with some surprises thrown in, and some heart stopping last ball results. And almost back to back football – now on – Barca vs Real, or to be more precise, Messi vs Ronaldo. The alacrity of their skills, the speed of their movement, the gentle subtle and precise passes and their dribbling skills when they get the ball, is not just astonishing, its mouth wide open disbelief. Indeed Ronaldo’s skills with the ball have been the subject of some serious research. His body movements when he hits or possesses the ball are technically put to scientific monitoring by placing all kinds of wires and tabs all over his system and through computer assistance, gauge and draw out patterns which then go under deep study and conclusion. Wow ! What happened to just bare athleticism ?

And as the second half begins they inform us of the popularity and interest in this particular game, which can be named the ultimate. Both teams are an incredible sight to see in action, and 85 private jets flew into Barcelona today carrying private parties from all over the World – Russia, MidEast, NorthAmerica, SouthAmerica – just to spend 90 minutes of this fantastic match up !!

This game of football, that is no longer a game but almost a religion, followed and worshipped by billions, who spend time money and energy, prayer and heartburn to see 22 men chasing a white sphere trying to put it into an oblong frame, on either side of the field !! During the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984 I spent a hilarious 90 mins in a stadium where a football game was on, sitting by an American lady, who had no idea at all of what the game was about, trying to explain football to her !! What worried her the most, and on which she queried every 2 mins, was why it was that the players were only using their feet. A direct reference to the other form of football she had been more conversant with in her part of the world – American Football !

Okaay ! Two magnificent goals – one by Barca and soon after another by Real. Incredible game on !
