Jaya lost her Mama today - her Mother’s older brother - in Patna. He was aging, but without any ailment as such. She will be going to be with her Mother in Bhopal tomorrow. Prayers and condolences.

Back to the ground after Goa and all that it represents - the warmth of its people, the vast acres of paddy fields waiting anxiously for the rains to fill them up with the much needed water, the swaying palms and the red earth, porous and firm to the environment.

The isolation and beauty of some of the landscapes has been breathtaking. Not in the typical breathtaking sort of manner, but more an appreciation of beauty in its natural form. The area beckons and hopefully we shall be there again soon.

Had sessions with RGV, Puri Jannath, Shoojit Sarkar on their proposed scripts and the way forward. Tomorrow there shall be some more and some more in another medium. Work seems to be getting busied up and I am glad that there are now in my mind the required projects firming up gradually. It is going to be an eventful year - rest of the year !

I wonder if this happens to all but, suddenly discovering an object that had seemed to have been lost, is like getting life back again. And how silly it looks to find it in the most unobtrusive location, when the worst has always been associated with its disappearance.

It could have been a lost handkerchief, or something more complicated like a camera, the joy on finding them has been phenomenal. A small digital camera that I had given up for lost was dug out today from a fairly safe place, and suddenly all attention gets diverted to photography !! Ha ha ha … But test the lens I must and store it on my irreplaceable object of least problems, barring a few occasions when the internet gave up trouble, the lap top.

All the story discussions today seemed fruitful, without argument and happily concurred without any hint for an assistance to be taken from outside forces. It is our film and our discussion and that is how it should really be.

The Deccan Chargers played like a miracle and pulled off a game when even they had never realized they could. Absolutely stupendous. And this afternoon Mumbai Indians thrashed the Delhi Dare Devils and soon after Chennai smashed any hopes for the semi final for the Kolkata Knight Riders. I got back from the flight just in time to catch both the games and now look forward to the next level of the game, tomorrow. It gets even more tight and unpredictable as we go along.

Tomorrow morning, early to the US Consulate to get my visa for ‘the land of the free’, so all ye US ‘walas’ time for despair on earlier news of me perhaps not being able to come has been removed, has it not … ?
