There is always a peculiar joy in accountability. Accountability in our own actions and deeds. Accountability in the work that you do. Accountability in your profession.

And when it is completed, even if the results are not to your expectation or desire, there is a satisfaction of at least knowing what is around. We may not understand it, or fully be able to give it our complete attention, but somewhere there lies in the process a sense of completion, of information. And that is quite uplifting.

Many a times we just blindly continue to do what we have been programmed to do without giving due consideration to the effects, after effects and results. Nothing wrong with it, but it could be helpful if there was thought in delving deeper into our own exercise. How it happened, why and where to from here.

I went through one this morning and through most of the day. Its good to revitalize our own senses. The perspective improves. The decision making gets better. There is a feeling of a certain confidence, a strength. And that could be path changing. Some doors hitherto considered closed, or never to open, suddenly open up and you are able to see a vista that perhaps one may never have seen, ever. That is such a loss.

The art of meeting people, of sharing ideas, of discussion has always been a boon. There has always been something that could be picked up, learnt from, gathered and stored to be utilized on a future day and date.

And now, there is a concerted desire to do more, to get challenged, to fight against odds and to have the confidence that it can be done alone. It has always been a single mind, a single dream, a single wish that has pushed us into achieving what we have strongly desired. Yes aided by those who can assist and have similar belief, but the design is of individual thought.

Attention may not come your way when you dream, desire, hope. But when it is achieved everyone suddenly starts to. The attention is for fresh deed and may continue till it disappoints, for all is not successful all the time. But at times when attention is given even when there has been failure, it is inspiring. You are being thought of. Better at least than not being thought of at all. It is actually affection, a lament, rather than a desire to keep away.

We must accept it to our benefit and to our betterment.

The day has gone by with hordes of meetings. Meetings that ring in future projects and directions that must be taken to achieve them. Story sittings, plans for shootings, dates …

It is an endless process and a nightmare for the schedule department. But they have been at it for now almost 40 years with me and are aware of all the possible permutations and combinations. They plan, they inform, they face the music when things do not work out. We merely give our instructions and walk away. But they struggle with the clients and producers and directors, working ceaselessly for their boss. They need acknowledgement and praise.

Tomorrow a press conference to make some announcements. Tomorrow a day to get our feed back from the tourism films done on Gujarat ; the first lot is ready. Tomorrow to look towards new inputs in forthcoming projects. Tomorrow to make important decisions that could become pioneering. Tomorrow to sit and ponder. Tomorrow is tomorrow …

We shall wait and wonder how it goes .. but tonight, or what is left of it is … FOOTBALL !!

Please do not disturb .. it comes after some days and its becoming very very intense ..
