One would have thought that having gone to bed at around 4 : 30 in the morning and up by 7:00 to get ready for Madh Island and the shoot for ‘Power’, would have been an impossibility, but no, it worked. And to top it all the director stops the shot in the middle just to tell me how fresh I was looking today ! Ha ha ! Mr Santoshi you have a sense of humor and a great delight for sweet meats, preferably Indian. I shall get you them in abundance and thank you for pulling my leg - I cannot possible grow any taller. I stopped doing that after 16 !

But yes .. the day was crowded with one act after another, stopping abruptly because of a sudden and fierce thunderstorm and heavy rain. Ya ! the monsoon still showing its presence and in style ! But that was just a passing phase, pun unintended, there being other business to transact. Preparations for the opener for KBC going in good tic and serious involvement for me during the next few days. When you perform live it takes a whole lot out of you. Got to do my best and that is always a frightening proposition. But Sony is pulling all the stops to bring me to a level of comfort and hopefully all shall go well. So people of the FmXt its the first episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 2010 on the 11th of October at 9 PM, spread the word, bring on the crowds, and lets start this season with great response and fanfare.

Ok … so that took a lot out of me !! The gathering together slogan mongering I mean. Butterflies not helping at all.

And … India won again today ! A hat trick ! The Ayodhya verdict first a victory for the nation as a people, for the calm and mature manner that the masses and the politicians took the decision of the courts. The CommonWealth Games opening ceremony, amidst apprehensions of all the terrible stories that kept coming out, a spectacular show applauded by one and all through the entire world. And this afternoon, a fantastic victory on the cricket pitch when down and out India fought like seasoned gladiators against the might of the Australians, to let the world know that we can do it when we want to. No longer that oft repeated tale of how we ‘went down fighting’, but instead how ‘we fought back to win from the brink of defeat’. And the one man that did it for us, as he often does, VVS Laxman. Pain and back spasms crpling his physical condition, but soldiering on to take his team and country to a much deserved win ! BUCK UP INDIA !!!

There have been some other highlights too during the day at the CWG - the Common Wealth Games. A few gold medals have been won by our shooters and weightlifters, to bring us at the moment to second position in the medals tally. For us to have seen and heard so much negative comment in the past few weeks, these last two days have been a roller coaster ride. ROBOT and all ! Thank you India !!

Shanouk sits on guard duty as I write and the slightest movement anywhere around gets him grumbling and upset … ok .. he just started again .. he does have the most oppressive bark !
